Edwin van der Veldt joined the faculty of the Reinwardt Academy in 2012 where he teaches students in cultural history. He is also a current member of the Advisory Council of the AHK and the creator of the Reinwardt Style Guide.

Edwin obtained two master's degrees from Utrecht University: Cultural History in 2003 and Bilingual And International Teacher Education Programme at the IVLOS Institute in 2004. Edwin teaches students from the Bachelor and Master programme and is known amongst all as an excellent orator.

For Edwin, it is important to challenge students to combine their fascination for the past with a healthy dose of critical reflection. His own challenge is always to make history comprehensible through his teaching. An interest in views that are different from yours - because they are based on different knowledge, experiences, values or opinions - is the core of his teaching.

As a researcher, Edwin focuses on human-animal relationships, as presented in heritage. Cultural history, Human-animal relationships, Education, Interpretation, nature and heritage, world history, museum activism are Edwin's areas of expertise.
