Trilce Navarrete Hernandez is a specialist in the economic and historic aspects of digital heritage. Currently Trilce also works as advisor at the European Group of Museum Statistics(EGMUS), board member of the International Committee of Documentation of the International Council of Museums (CIDOC, ICOM) and is part of the editorial board of the blog she co-founded(The Economists Art Talk).

She has contributed to the creation and development of the European statistics for digital heritage, has served as advisor for the creation and evaluation of (national) digital infrastructures, and has collaborated in several European funded research projects, including the Virtual Multimodal Museum (ViMM). Trilce was also responsible for the first national study of the economic and historic development of digital museums, in The Netherlands.

Trilce has a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Amsterdam and two Master degrees: in Cultural Economics and Cultural Entrepreneurship from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and in Arts and Administration concentration in Museum Studies from the University of Oregon.

Trilce focuses on the history of the digitisation of collections in Dutch museums, and tries to explain this through economic, cultural and information science theories. Growing up, Trilce experienced museums as an extension of the home, a place of learning and communities and a universal centre of humanity. Her research is driven by an interest to support evidence based policy to increase the use of digital heritage in our lives.
