Schedule

You can enrol in the Applied Museum and Heritage Studies programme as either a full-time or part-time student. The full-time programme lasts a year. The part-time programme can be completed in two years. Full-time and part-time students take the same modules and as much as possible, will work in mixed groups, but in a slightly different order. The academic year starts on 1 September. We sometimes hold introduction days beforehand.

For full time students class days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Every Monday and Wednesday will typically start at 09:30 with a reflection on the week before and a look forward at the lecture week ahead. On Monday, this will be followed by a seminar (10:00–12:00) and a close reading or research session (13:00–15:00). On Wednesday there may be a guest speaker from the field or an excursion. Fridays are typically reserved for excursions or additional seminars. This will on average be every other week.

Part-time students join the fulltime students in the first year on Monday and the occasional Friday and in the second year on Wednesday and the occasional Friday.

We are considering the possibility of opening up the modules from the master's program for occasional students. At the moment this is not possible as we have to be selective given high student demand. In addition, we are looking into the possibility of scheduling lectures in the evening for part-time students. More information will follow shortly.

In the first year, part-time students will have classes on Mondays and the occasional Friday. In the second year, they will have classes on Wednesdays and the occasional Friday.
