Exchange Programme: Sharing Stories on Contested Histories

Published on

How are museum and heritage professionals worldwide responding to current societal challenges, such how to deal with the afterllives of colonial suppression, the climate crisis and social inequalities? How do museums critically engage with their own history and reflect on their role in society in light of these challenges? How can they manage collections created and collected during colonial times more carefully and ethically? How do they navigate and respond to disputes over particular histories and heritage?

This exchange programme brings together a group of young museum and heritage professionals from around the world to reflect on these questions and exchange knowledge and experiences about their working practices.
