Nel van Dijk new director of Reinwardt Academie

Nel van Dijk has been appointed director of the Reinwardt Academy, the academy for cultural heritage that is part of the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK). She succeeds Teus Eenkhoorn and has been acting director of the Reinwardt Academy since last autumn.

Nel van Dijk has worked at the AHK since 2012 as head of the central department of Quality, communication and policy. Before that she worked at various Dutch universities, on the intersection of art, culture and history. After studying Language and Literary Studies (specialisation in literature sociology), a PhD-traject and a post-doctoral appointment at Tilburg University, she worked in various positions at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication in Rotterdam, the last four years as director of education.

Nel van Dijk:
'I got to know the Reinwardt Academy very well in the past year and am looking forward to continuing my work as a director in the beautiful building at the Hortusplantsoen. I am proud of the people who study and work there. With them I share the passion for cultural heritage and with them I want to work on a wonderful future for the academy.'
