Debate: Heritage professonials across borders

Published on

Newspapers are full with news about Syria. Countless people have had to leave the country, including colleagues from the heritage field: archaeologists, tour guides and museum professionals. The Reinwardt Academy and the Salon de Museology organize a debate on Thursday, May 12th meeting these colleagues.

During this meeting we explore the similarities and differences in thinking about heritage. We discuss the misconceptions on heritage in their country of origin by the way the news highlights the situation in Syria and see what we can do for each other. This evening also offers special background using photographs of the destruction of museum objects and heritage in Syria.

Come join in the conversation, respond to first-hand experiences of colleagues from war zone on the situation of the heritage. Heritage that is important not only for Syria but for humanity as a whole.
