Master's programme in Applied Museum & Heritage Studies
Please note that the Reinwardt Academy does not offer a master’s programme in 2019-2020. A new government-sponsored programme is currently being developed for 2020-2021.
The website has not yet been updated with information about the new programme but it does give you an idea of things to come. The programme information will be updated as soon as possible.
Our full-time international master's programme in Museology provides graduates with expert knowledge as well as useful professional skills and connections. Museology is not just about what happens within museum walls; it studies heritage production at large and places the museum in its local and global contexts.
The programme challenges you to reflect deeply on heritage and its role in society. It focuses on cutting-edge developments and approaches, while placing collections and museums in their wider contexts. It will provide you with the tools necessary to formulate and implement innovative projects based on out-of-the-box thinking and sound ethics.
The master's programme is taught in a small, but highly diverse, international group. This allows for an intensive programme of workshops and excursions based on co-creation and peer education. You are thought of as future colleagues and as such you become part of the vast Reinwardt Academy network.
Museology in Amsterdam
