Master's in Applied Museum and Heritage Studies

We are offering an innovative 60 EC international master's program in Applied Museum & Heritage Studies.

Engaged Professionalism
The programme is designed to give you the knowledge and skills needed to conduct socially engaged interventions in the international museum and heritage field. You will study how current societal transitions have an impact on and can be impacted by museum and heritage work. Based on real questions and real situations, you will discuss and conceptualise exhibitions, educational programmes, policies and community projects as cultural interventions in an ever-changing world. In line with current global developments, the three main themes running throughout the programme are sustainability, inclusivity and digitality.

Studying in Amsterdam
Reinwardt Academy is a renowned school of cultural heritage in the centre of Amsterdam. It is within walking distance of both innovative community projects and internationally respected institutions. The city is a major creative hub and an important heritage site in its own right. Moreover, the historic city of Amsterdam has a large student population and one of the highest densities of museums in the world. There is no better place to prepare yourself for the next step in your career as a museum or heritage professional.

Degree
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are likely to receive the title Master of Arts (MA) pending formal accreditation by the accreditation organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). Given these extraordinary times, the visitation scheduled for 8 April has been postponed. We are currently discussing on how to proceed with the parties involved.
