Nora Veerman

Nora Veerman is a researcher and writer on fashion and clothing, with a background in Art History and Fashion Science. Her work considers how people relate to themselves and society through clothing. She focuses on everyday interactions between people and clothes - making, wearing, buying and selling, keeping, throwing away - and the emotions and experiences that accompany them. Veerman is a PhD candidate at Radboud University, where she researches homemade fashion in the Netherlands between 1950 and 1990, in collaboration with the Reinwardt Academy, Modemuze and the Dutch Open Air Museum. She also writes about fashion for de Volkskrant and various other media, and teaches fashion theory and history at colleges and universities.
