Cross-overs between heritage practices and design of our urban environment in a new societal dynamic are researched by the Street Value project, one of the projects within the ACIN. Between neighbourhood initiatives, collective self-build and repurposed monuments. This multidisciplinary project explores new issues and the changing playing field of heritage and spatial design in, for instance, a series of workshops concerning the casus Weesperstraat-Wibautstraat (including the ‘Knowledge Mile’). Riemer Knoop is the initiator of this project.
ACIN (Amsterdam Creative Industries Network) is a Centre of Expertise and is founded by the University of Applied Sciences, the Inholland Academy and the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Professors and researchers of these universities and academy are closely involved in the labs. The research and applications are very relevant and of a high standard due to this expertise and the link with leading companies. The Reinwardt Academy participates in the ACIN and coordinates, among other projects, the HeritageLab.
