The overall programme covers two internships at a heritage institution or an (governmental) institution connected to the heritage sector. The Reinwardt Academy has a broad and diverse network of national and international institutions with a traineeship at its disposal. This includes large, well known museums and organizations as well as smaller specialized heritage institutions.
The second-year internship is an introduction to the work field and lasts 15 weeks. During this internship you will get acquainted with the ins and outs of a Dutch or Belgian heritage institution, e.g. an archive, gallery or museum. Practical and varied activities, which will provide insight in the different roles of a heritage institution, will be performed. An integrated approach of work and study was chosen for this internship. A lecturer and an internship advisor will guide you through the internship at the institution of choice. The internship consists of assignments from the academy and concludes with a written report. The assessment shall examine the implementation of the internship assignment, your theoretical knowledge, your professional attitude and your report.
